Ester C Caps

A polyascorbate is a complex mixture containing many forms of vitamin C and its metabolites. The process used to chelate or tightly bond ascorbic acid with calcium yields a new form of Ascorbate that has less ionic character, is more lipids soluble and passes the mucosal barriers more rapidly. Thorough bonding makes these large molecules more readily absorbed and less likely to be quickly filtered out of the plasma by the kidneys. Ester C is absorbed into the blood twice as fast and in greater quantities than ascorbic acid alone or standard U.S.P. calcium ascorbate. It increases tissue (white blood cell) levels of vitamin C. It also remains in circulation twice as long as ascorbic acid and is excreted into urine at a much lower rate. In addition, its neutral pH of 7.0, the same as distilled water, produces no gastric upset and produces much less oxalic acid in urine than ascorbic acid, minimizing possible risk of kidney stones.
